I had been waiting for Doner Kabab Bistro to open since forever. Finally gave them a call today and they said they are working. Called a few friends and we landed there are 730 for a early dinner.
Located on the Anderson road, Nungambakkam. It's bang opposite the asan memorial school. There is also a mini Madras Coffee House kiosk located a few buildings away. It needs more sign boards as it may be a tag too difficult to spot for those not from the locality. Parking a
First thing first, I was super impressed by the whole look of the place.. A narrow parking space has been converted into a cute lil bistro. They have both outdoor and indoor seating area. The place can seat up to 35-40 people on the whole.
What I loved about the place? No trees have been harmed when they make the bistro. The glass walls with turquoise wooden frames has been constructed around the trees.. Beautiful..
The insides of the resto had been done up in light gray and they have gone with the Minimalistic theme. The place is brightly lit. With the ceiling partly painted in stripes of purple, turquoise and a rock magenta and the red stools on one side - very niche. The tiny Tiffany lamps hanging on one side - very classy..
The service -quite good for the first day. The crew was well versed with the menu and very helpful when it came to explaining the dishes and helping us with our orders..
What we had and how much we loved it, a brief:
Chicken Doner : Thinly sliced, perfectly Grilled chicken strips, stuffed inside freshly baked flap buns.. Served with generous amount of fried and ketchup, it's a meal by it self.. It was very fresh, juicy and delicious.
Nigerian Lamb : I ordered this as it's was strongly recommended by the person taking our order. It was plain wow.
4 juicy Lamb chops cooked to perfection, served in a peppery tangy sauce along with aromatic buttered herb rice and pickled zucchini and cucumber.. It was really delicious.. I was left wanting for more though.
Chicken sausage stuffed Calamari: My friend who ordered it seemed to love it. Perfectly sliced and presented beautifully, it looked tempting but I did not try. I do not like to mix my meats. But may end up trying it the next time I'm there.
Churros : I ordered this the first thing after I saw the menu. I ordered it with dulce de leche but they served it with the white chocolate sauce and the dark chocolate so that we get a taste of this. It was superbly fresh and very good. I polished it off within minutes of it appearing on our table.
I loved everything that was dishes out if the DKG kitchen. I'm def heading back soon for more of those Lamb chops and Churros.
The whole meal cost us 1100 bucks. The Churros were made complimentary. ( yay!!! ) very very reasonable!!

Ordered chicken steak and orange chicken salad which went well over expectations...
Definitely a comeback place...
Peaceful place to spend sometime with loved ones and friends. Loved the place very much and we can find the unique taste of food here.
